Submission guidelines

Manuscript preparation

All submissions were written in English with a maximum paper length of six (6) printed pages, in 10 point font and including figures, without incurring additional page charges. A maximum of one additional page was permitted with an over length page charge of USD 100 if accepted. Papers exceeding 8 pages were not accepted at EDAS.

Standard IEEE conference templates for LaTeX formats are available from the IEEE templates page. Authors could also use one of the IEEE templates for Microsoft Word, in A4 or US letter format. Only PDF files were accepted for the review process, and all submissions were made through EDAS.

Author list

During the initial submission process through EDAS, it was the authors' responsibility to ensure that the author list and paper title of the submitted PDF file exactly matched the author list and paper title on the EDAS registration page. The EDAS registration page had to include all coauthors, not just the submitting author. Failure to comply could result in the paper being withdrawn from the review process. The author list of an accepted paper could not be changed in the final manuscript.

Peer review and ethics

All papers submitted to APCC 2018 were peer reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. Papers were reviewed on the basis that they did not contain plagiarized material and had not been submitted to any other conference at the same time. These matters were taken seriously, and the IEEE Communications Society acted against any author who engaged in either practice. The relevant IEEE policies are:

Registration and presentation

Every accepted paper had to be accompanied by at least one full registration and had to be presented at the conference. Under IEEE policy, the IEEE reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference, including its removal from IEEE Xplore, if the paper was not presented. Accepted, registered and presented papers were published in the APCC 2018 conference proceedings and in IEEE Xplore, as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases.
